
The Scripture Scrubs Journey
Since October 21, 2003 when Barbara Payne, R.N. received inspiration from the Lord to put His Word on medical uniform tops, it has been a remarkable journey. Approaching her sister-in-law, living 2,000 miles away, the two women with no previous experience in fabric design and apparel manufacturing had worked together under the Lord's leading to make this dream a reality. The journey has been tough at times, but the Father continued to show His grace and mercy. Even when all seemed hopeless, when the first fabric order was lost at sea for over 2 months, hidden in a foreign port for 2 weeks, the ship being rerouted to Miami, the hurricanes and the threat of the fabric going into a government impound warehouse. Through all these trials and more, God prevailed. The fabric was sent to a US manufacturer and the tops were made. All our customers never canceled out their orders, and sent prayers and encouragement instead. In October 2004, the TOPS arrived and the orders were sent to all that had been waiting "months" for Scripture Scrubs. Scripture Scrubs will operate also as a ministry with 20% of the net profits going into a medical mission fund to help elderly and indigent people who cannot afford proper care and medicine. This fund will be used in the USA, until the Lord directs it to be used elsewhere.

About the Owner
Barbara Payne is a Registered Nurse and the conceptual developer of SCRIPTURE SCRUBS. She has practiced in 14 states, primarily in home health and hospice and understands the opportunities to encourage patients through prayer and faith. She is married to Boyd, has 2 sons and 5 GRANDSONS. She loves to spend her time fishing, taking long drives in the "hills" of S.E. Oklahoma, and just "hanging" out with her grandsons. My prayer is that Scripture Scrubs uniform tops will be a testimony and a blessing to everyone involved.
